Fancy that, an actual toothy grin! Obdurodon tharalkooschild lived during the Miocene epoch (roughly 5.3-23 million years ago) and is the largest known species of platypus. Unlike modern platypuses, species of Obdurodon retained teeth as adults. This probably allowed them to tackle hard-shelled prey.
