The seed-bearing cones of Araucaria bidwillii are the size of a human head, and present something of a hazard when they fall from the tree. As fossil relatives of this species have been found in Jurassic-aged rocks, it’s tempting to speculate that dinosaurs may have occasionally been clobbered by similarly giant nuts.
